(25) ICL7660CPA NEGATIVE VOLTAGE CONVERTER
ICS (-5VDC), 8-PIN DIP ICsNew, old stock (NOS ICs), ICL 7660 type Intersil ICs, equiv. to 7660 ICs and to the Maxim Max1044 (Max 1044). The ICL7660 is by far the easiest, fastest, most versatile, most compact and cheapest way to add a negative power supply voltage to a circuit that has only a positive power supply voltage! Can also be wired with a few parts to be a positive voltage doubler or positive voltage tripler! Absolutely invaluable for the designer! You can connect these up to even double the current if you wish! When used in conjunction with a single cell battery (1.5 VDC AA, AAA, C, D, pill battery cell), because the negative voltage output almost doubles the total VDC to close to 3 VDC, you can use it to operate low-voltage ICs like the LM358 and NE532 from a single 1-cell battery! Permits external clocking and shutdown. Requires only 2-3 common capacitors and 2-3 diodes to operate (combination of which depends upon desired output). Especially ideal for bipolar opamps, cheapo dynamic RAM (as compared to static RAM), microprocessors and microcontrollers that require negative power supplies (e.g. 8080 series), data acquisition systems (ADC, DAC, etc), single-cell power supply circuits, and some transducers. If you are serious about electronics, you absolutely must keep in stock a good supply of these ICs.
