Chick rotary indexer setup for haas vf series mill
Chick Rotary Indexer. Setup to use on Haas VF series mills. Will also work on any other type of mill.
Indexer is semi-automatic. By pushing the plunger with the white plastic tip the indexer will rotate 15 degrees and lock. You can program your CNC to bring in a blunt tool and simply program it it simulate a drilling cycle. Each cycle will rotate 15 degrees. You can also rotate in 5 degree increments by using the hand lever. If you don't feel comfortable with having your CNC push the plunger Chick offers a handle that actuates the plunger as well.
Four of the stations are setup to hold a square block and has hard inserts threaded to grip the workpiece. The other four stations are specially milled for one of our products, but there is ample room for re-milling to you preference.
I will include a CAD drawing of the unit so you can start programming right away and don't have to spend a day reverse figuring out what the dimensions are. I can supply this in Mastercam, various Auto CAD formats as well as others. Please let me know what format you would like it in.
We have used this rotary for years with no troubles at all. We just ran the last of this generation of part and have upgraded to an HA5C from Haas.
