* Atomic Lock must be achieved by progressing through a normal warm-up and frequency sweep cycle (typically takes about 5 minutes after cold start)
* Oscillator frequency output must remain stable within +/-5E-9 Hz within all times after lock.
* Oscillator frequency output must eventually fall within +/-5E-10 Hz of absolute 10-MHz frequency.
* The oscillator must function without fault and within tolerance during a 48-hour burn-in cycle.

A built-in, temperature controlled fan only activates when the interior temperatures reach a level that might shorten the life of the oscillator. When the fan is activated, it is "throttled back" and runs quietly. The MS-1003A gives reliable service with no work-area distractions.
