This is the suction strainer for Titan 440, 447, 660, 690 airless paint sprayers. 3/4 UNF thread. New!
These strainers get crushed and clogged..duhh. Well, it may seem obvious, but I have had clogged filters being the cause of a unit not sucking up. But, less obvious, they may start feeding small chunks into the foot valve and cause your unit to ceaslessly "hick-up". A damaged strainer can also feed pieces of the mesh into the pump...instant repack time!
The suction tube, itself, will shed pieces of dried paint into your unit, especially if you try to run a strong solvent through your unit, or attempt to clean out your tube without doing an insanely thorough job. Incomplete cleaning of a suction assembly is the one most common problem that has caused me to disassemble and re-clean the foot valve assembly after a repack.
