ABB DPU 2000 Power Distribution Protection System
Up for sale is an Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) Electronic Power Distribution Protection System. Sorry, but I can't tell you much about it. However, a search of the ABB website indicates that this product is still supported. Manuals, application notes and software can still be downloaded. Here a description from thier website:
The DPU2000 relay is a microprocessor based unit of the field proven DPU family of protection. Specifically designed for electrical distribution and sub-transmission line systems. The DPU2000 offers protective, monitoring, metering, programmable control, and communications features for expanding the capability of your protection systems. The DPU2000 offers phase and ground instantaneous and time overcurrent protection; negative-sequence overcurrent protection; directional phase and time overcurrent protection, single and three phase undervoltage protection and single phase overvoltage protection control and alarm; multi-shot reclosing; and over/under frequency protection for load-shedding applications.
As with all of ABB’s distribution relays, the DPU2000 relay uses the Win ECP software program for communicating to a personal computer. Communication protocols include Modbus or DNP3.0. The accurate metering of the DPU2000 eliminates the need for separate meters. The DPU2000 relay is available for both vertical and horizontal mounting, and is designed for drawout capability for ease of replacement, testing, or maintenance.
While the DPU2000 relay is still available, many other distribution protection features are available on the DPU2000R relay.
