The coated C-5 grade (C5CVAL) is a tough grade with a hardness of 91.0 Ra, high TiC and TaC for cutting steel, medium to high fracture toughness and medium abrasion resistance. C5CVAL is designed for general purpose metal removal operations such as turning, boring, and milling. It performs best at medium cutting speeds and feed rates on medium interrupted cuts on a wide variety of carbon and alloy steels.
