This is a reproduction, not a photocopy, of an original 12" Atlas Backgeared Screw Cutting Lathe for models 3980, 3981, 3982, 3983, 3990, and 3991. This was also sold under the Craftsman brand name. This manual contains information on setup, lubrication, maintenance, and controls as well as a complete parts list and exploded views and adjustments. This manual has a excellent description of removing the headstock spindle, removing the back gears, assembling the back gears, and resembling the headstock spindle. This manual also has a very excellent and very important description on adjusting the spindle and back gear, with Timken Bearings this is critical. Another nice thing about this manual is the electrical diagram at the end. Don't forget to check out my other items!
