KM1804VS1 AM2901DC Clone 4-Bit Slice CPU Rare GOLD Ceramic IC, NEW
KM1804VS1 is a 4-Bit Slice Microprocessor (CPU) - 4-Bit uP Slice 4-func ALU. It is the Russian clone of AMD's AM2901DC.
In this white ceramic package with gold pins it is a beautiful looking and also a VERY RARE chip.
This can be quite a cool item for chip collectors.
1804 series chips form a full bit-slice microprocessor set. All parts in this series are clones of AM29xxDC series chips. When this set was introduced it allowed organising of microprocessor systems with very flexible architecture and performance similar to minicomputers and even supercomputers.
In the core of 1804 set is the 4-bit CPU - KM1804VS1 (exact AM2901DC clone) that can perform 8 arithmetical and logical operations. However this CPU can't choose commands from memory by itself and can not work with system bus. KM1804VS1 chips can be combined to effectively form an 8-, 12-, or 16-bit CPU (please see the picture below).
KM1804VS1 communicates with memory through 4-bit memory controllers - KM1804VU1/2 (AM2909DC / AM2911DC) and KM1804VU3 (AM29811ADC). Each of KM1804VU1/2 includes software timer, 4-element stack, stack pointer and address register, programmable processor for accessing operands in memory. KM1804VU3 (AM29811ADC) chip calculates address of the next command by the code of the previous one and the state of CPU flags. The KM1804 series also includes a fast transition chip - 1804VR1 (AM2902DC), a pair of which can make a 32-bit transition circuit.
