The saw is 3 phase with a 7.5 H.P. motor. You could use an 8" up to a 16" diameter blade on this machine. This saw has the power feed option, which runs the motor/blade carriage up and down the rails with the touch of a button on the control box. The speed both forward and reverse is variable for cutting different materials. There is a ton of space below for storage.
I bought this saw in rougher shape and have been in the process of refurbishing it. I have a couple others as well and have decided that a CNC machine will better suit my needs now, so this is the saw that will go. It has been cleaned up. The frame underneath has been modified with leveling bolts on horizontal supports so that the saw could be used as an outfeed table for a table saw, which works well and uses space efficiently. The frame underneath was repainted. A new top was added and resurfaced with dry erase board laminate. I do not have 3 phase power and never got around to getting a phase converter for it, so I never actually ran it. For this reason there is not yet a kerf cut into the table top.
Hendrick is still in business and although this saw is older, they do still sell parts such as bushings, etc. I do have a new brass bushing set that you will want to install on the carraige that runs down the polished rails. This saw would run around $15,000 from them today....my reserve is a fraction if that, I need to make room for other equip. It has been gone though about 90%, a little bit of additional work will get somebody a great saw that should last a long time. As mentioned, I have 2 others and they work great.
